Use your AI assistant

Folio offers a stateless Streamable HTTP MCP server with bearer API keys. In your library, open Settings → Developer to create a key. Configure a compatible client with:

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

Clients supporting custom HTTP headers can list voices, upload documents, check credits, generate previews or full books, cancel, and create listening links. Your assistant must obtain your approval of the displayed maximum minutes before generating paid audio. This is a custom connection; it is not a marketplace listing or an OAuth connector.

Meta Muse / REST connectors

For custom connectors that accept OpenAPI and bearer authentication, use the OpenAPI definition. Configure the same base URL and API key. Whether Meta Muse accepts this connection depends on your connector settings and supported authentication.

USDC on Base · x402

Agent accounts can buy credits without card checkout. Request an order, then have an x402 v2 client pay its quoted payment URL. Use Base mainnet USDC; other chains and USDG are not supported yet. Never send a private key or seed phrase to Folio.

The response includes a private API key, order ID, and payment URL. Save the API key securely. POST to that URL with Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY to receive HTTP 402 and Payment-Required. Your wallet client signs the quoted USDC payment and retries with Payment-Signature. Credit is granted only after confirmed settlement. If interrupted, retry the same order with the original signed payment. Do not create a replacement payment. Agent accounts don’t get the 10 free minutes.
